Young practitioners to lead Creative Youth
A charity committed to supporting young people in the arts is promoting two young practitioners into leadership positions.
ARCHIE O’NEILL and DANIEL CARTLIDGE, who each have several years’ experience with the organisation, will become Co-Directors from September.
They will takeover leadership from LOUISE COLES, who is stepping down from her current role as CEO, but will continue in a part-time role focusing on the charity’s fundraising efforts.
O’Neill is currently Community and Participation Manager at Creative Youth, where he collaborates with community groups, schools & colleges, youth services and artists from underserved backgrounds.
Cartlidge will step up from his position as General Manager. He has a passion for exploring underrepresented identities on stage and supporting emerging artists.
“We are both incredibly excited to be supporting Creative Youth through one of the most exciting chapters in our history,” the incoming leaders said.
“By working closely together, we hope to champion more young people than ever to make use of the spaces, programmes and opportunities provided by Creative Youth.”
ROBIN HUTCHINSON, Chair of the Trustees, paid tribute to outgoing CEO Cole.
“We owe an enormous thanks to Louise who has been a brilliant CEO and leader of Creative Youth,” Hutchinson said.
“She has overseen so many great initiatives for the charity and steered it through the enormously challenging times of Covid and onto new successes.”
