Art Fund looks for Museum of the Year
The Art Fund has launched its annual hunt for Britain’s best museum or gallery with new, wider criteria. The winner receives £100k, awarded for the exceptional achievements of a museum or gallery in 2012, not necessarily for a single project. The panel will be looking for an innovative museum that has brought its collection to life for audiences; won the support and enthusiasm of its visitors and users; and embarked on activity that will provide a lasting legacy. Applications will be narrowed to a shortlist of ten with the winner announced on 4 June 2013, alongside the £10k prize-winner of the Clore Award for Learning, which honours museums that put education at the heart of their organisation.
