Network to drive talent development in music
22 organisations have been selected as PRS Foundation Talent Development Partners 2016 and will receive grants to deliver support for music creators.
A network of arts organisations has been formed by PRS for Music Foundation to support musical talent development across a range of genres in the UK.
The 22 PRS Foundation Talent Development Partners 2016 will receive up to £25k each to deliver support for music creators.
Sage Gateshead is one of the Partners. Managing Director Abigail Pogson said she was thrilled with the grant, which will help the organisation to run a composer in residence scheme, offer mentoring opportunities for emerging artists, and host a cross-genre showcase festival.
Other organisations selected include Cheltenham Festivals, the Roundhouse, Mahogany Opera Group, Sound and Music, the English Folk Dance and Song Society and Manchester Jazz Festival.
The Foundation said the partners were chosen for the quality and range of opportunities they offer and the year-round impact of their work.
The Partners will also act as ambassadors for the Foundation, signposting music creators to its funds.
Executive Director of PRS for Music Foundation Vanessa Reed said: “I look forward to following each partner’s projects and initiatives as well as helping this network to share insight into the current challenges facing individual artists across the UK and increasing opportunities for a broader range of artists to receive the help they deserve at crucial moments in their career.”
