Current Chair of Barbican Centre TOM SLEIGH has been named Chair of Norwich Theatre.

Sleigh succeeds MICHAEL NEWEY, who will complete his nine-year tenure in March 2024.

He was reappointed to Barbican Centre's Board in May after joining as Non-Executive Chair in 2020.

Sleigh will work closely with Chief Executive and Creative Director, STEPHEN CROCKER, to fulfil the theatre's creative experience strategy.

With experience across the private and public sectors, Sleigh is currently Director of Corporate Affairs and Community Engagement at Bank of London.

From 2024, he will also Chair the Council of Goldsmiths, University of London.

"I have followed Norwich Theatre’s growing presence and position as a cultural change maker within the sector, and I’m delighted to bring my learnings from a national level to create greater innovation in this new era at Norwich Theatre,” Sleigh said.

Crocker added that he is "truly delighted" Sleigh will become Chair.

"My team and I are so excited about partnering with him to lead Norwich Theatre into its next chapter and how, through his leadership and along with our passionate and dedicated Trustees, we will together imagine all the impact we  might generate through our work well into the future."
